Jessica Moore is a multidisciplinary artist and dance educator who is constantly looking at ways to explore and infuse movement, making it accessible to anyone regardless of their prior knowledge or specialty. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Education from Columbia College in Columbia, SC. While attending college Moore received a grant to research Native American Pow Wow dances and traditions from the Carolinas, developing a curriculum introducing Native American customs into education.
Moore has traveled and presented her research throughout the southeast, leading seminars and lectures for educators and students alike, including the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) conference and The SC Alliance for Physical Health, Education, Recreation, and Dance Clinic. Additionally she served as adjunct professor at Columbia College teaching their Diversity in Dance course.
A member of The Power Company Collaborative from 2006-2015 Moore toured and worked with numerous artists including Christian Von Howard, Paloma McGregor, Dan Wagoner, and Lisa Wheeler-Rossi. She has trained in a variety of styles specializing in contemporary, improvisational, site-specific works. Jessica served as the Dance Specialist at Blythewood High School from 2006-2014 directing their full-time dance program teaching ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, cultural dance, and choreography to students of all ages and backgrounds. She is currently seeking her Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance, and Choreography at The College at Brockport in New York.
